BusyToDo App Reviews

Busy ToDo

Flawless synchronization with BusyCal, iPad and iPhone. I use it instead of Apples Reminders because drag and drop sorting is ridiculous. Id give it five stars if I could create subtasks. Doesnt need a desktop version if you have BusyCal - you can organize, edit, and sort right from within BusyCal. Now back to that subtask issue.......

Excellent

Outstanding app. Works flawlessly, syncs perfectly with BusyCal for the Mac. Not complicated, but comprehensive enough to plan effectively. It just works!

Outstanding App!!

Outstanding! It works exactly as described. Very easy to use and does everything I need it to do and then some! It syncs with my iMac flawlessly. Been using it for a long time. Good job!

Constantly Crashes

I love busycal. Wanted to love this but it wont stop crashing!!! Many times, when syncing on iPhone or iPad, it crashes. Please fix this.

Dont bother

Doesnt sync with events. Just reminders. Not sure what I just got for the price I just paid. Certainly not my moneys worth

Crashes

Save your money and dont buy this crappy software. I love BusyCal on Mac, but BusyToDo will keep you busy installing and re-installing it on your iPhone or iPad. I want my money back!

iCloud and Kerio

We have been using this application for several months without any single issue. It has very robust features for displaying event and tasks calendars. The iOS version does a great job with tasks. The desktop version does an even better job by allowing you to view tasks and events in one application... better, easier and more features than Calendar or Reminders. It works well with iCloud and Kerio server across OSX and iOS devices all syncing seamlessly together.

Sorry

Im sorry I spent my money on this. Maybe its just me but I cant get it to sync with my busycal.

Works great

I have never had this crash on me and works great alone or with BusyCal. I do a zillion things and this helps me keep organized on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. The cool thing is I can still use Siri to add a reminder and both this app and Reminders syncs with no issues.

Great App!

I bought this a few days ago and its been working great ever since. BusyMac products just seem to match the way I work & think better than the built in Apple Apps. I organize my life around daily todo lists (not timed reminders) and BusyTodo handles that just fine. It could use a UI refresh though, if only to look more like iOS 7.

Still has an iOS 6 aesthetic, but is better than Reminders

BusyToDo was the first app I thought of when I considered replacing Apple’s built-in reminders. I use BusyCal on my Mac, and it works great. The app still has an early-iOS aesthetic, versus the new iOS 7 look, and that resulted in a few glitches, like banners (e.g. “Due Today”) showing below the actual reminders. The one thing that astonishes me though is that Custom Reminders (i.e. having an event repeat every other day), which are recognized by both Apple’s Reminders AND BusyToDo, are not something you can create in BusyToDo. I end up having to create my events on my iOS device and then adjust them with BusyCal on my Mac, which is frustrating. I don’t know if this is a limitation of iOS for some reason, but if not, I hope it is something addressed in a future update. I haven’t experienced any of the crashes other users mentioned, but I would like to see sub-tasks akin to how Things manages projects.

superb

BETTER THAN REMINDERS! The single non-Apple app that I use EVERY DAY both on the iPhone and now on the iPad !) to coordinate my office iMac-based iCal organized business: indispensable. Thank you!

Works!

Easy to use and synching across devices is flawless.

Limited syncing with BusyCal

App works perfectly with my iCal account, but doesnt even pretend to talk to my Exchange account. Since BusyCal has made much of its ability to work with exchange servers this should at least be noted so folks can decide whether its worth it to shell out $5 for an app that only does half of what they might expect. (BusyCal is a great program, though pricey).

Mixed review

Many thanks to Busycal for being one of the very few if any desktop apps that still combines tasks and appointments. But BusyToDo just doesnt have the same feel or functionality. Hence the name difference I suppose. Anyhoo, Im getting lots of crashes with BTD. I dont see any advantage over Reminders at this time.

Better, but still room for improvement

June 2013 I said "I love busycal for Mac. This app works well on my iPad, but on my iPhone it crashes constantly. There have been no updates recently. Please fix it soon.” After the update it no longer crashes, thank you! It does not work well with BusyCal 2 for Mac, however because the repeat “regenerate” function for a todo on the Mac is lost on the iOS app. Checking the todo as done on iOS causes the todo to repeat “everyday” instead of “regenerate in _ days."

Still Supported?

Is BusyToDo still supported by BusyCal? There hasnt been an update in over a year. There is an extremely annoying bug. When only TODAYs items are displayed, deleting an item frequently causes the entire list to disappear. Displaying more than just TODAYs list brings the display back. I emailed Customer Support about this quite some time ago, but still no fix.

Great Product, great customer service

This dramatically improves upon the apple Reminders programs/apps, and it coordinates perfectly with BusyCal, which combines the features of and greatly improves on the apple calendar and reminders software. So while this is great on its own, its even better when combined with BusyCal as your desktop calendar/todo software. Customer service is very responsive. I had a tiny syncing problem, and John in customer service responded immediately and persevered until the troubleshooting was done. So heartwarming is that--I wish the software had more problems. The product could be improved if it and BusyCal had a way of making subitems within a todo item. But basically, this is awesome.

It changed all my calendar colors

I used to really like this app until it changed all my calendar colors. Now they dont match the colors on my Apple Calendar. The colors are there for reason. Now that reason is useless.

New 2.0 version less attractive

This new version of BusyToDo seems to crowd everything in the left pane on the iPad and users no longer can see both their ToDos and the setup pane simultaneously. I dont like this UI change. Ugly.
